The situation
This client had lived in their bungalow for 20 years. They liked the area, so didn't want to move but wanted more space. They contacted Focusmont with a wish list for the conversion including five bedrooms, three bathrooms (two en-suite), with a central staircase and impressive entrance hall area, supplemented with spacious receptions and kitchen / family room. The outcome With the wish list in mind, Focusmont formulated a design to meet the criteria along with suggestions to provide a more complete flowing arrangement of the rooms. |

So although they had bought a bigger house, they were still living in the same amount of space as their previous 1 bedroom flat. The outcome Focusmont discussed various options with the client and provided 3 proposals for redesigning the space to optimise the floor area and orientate the living accommodation from south facing to north facing to achieve maximum daylight. |
The situation
This client approached Focusmont having purchased a detached house in poor repair, which due to its location near local amenities and demand in the area for apartments, leant itself to redevelopment. The outcome Two buildings containing five apartments in each with a gated entrance to parking area were created. Focusmont designed the development to look like two detached houses with sympathetic elevations to harmonise with the surrounding properties. The apartments were a combination of 1 and 2 bed properties, two of which were duplex units. Each apartment was designed to provide maximum living space and plentiful daylight. |
